This type of ring-turned foot shows influence from both Pennsylvania and Fredericksburg, VA. We have encountered a piece with a very similar foot that was made in the New Market, VA area. The neat and plain style, walnut primary wood, and yellow pine secondary wood all indicate a Virginia origin. Additionally, the feet are attached to the case underneath rather than being part of the side, a construction technique that did not become popular until the 1820s-1830s, so that is the likely date range for this piece.
