This ceramic bowl by artist Yukio Onaga has a round, gently flared form with a small, raised foot. The interior is smooth with a glossy finish that reflects light, revealing slight textural ripples from the handcrafting process. About the artist:
The California Japanese Ceramic Arts Guild was formed in 1976 to bring together Southern California ceramic artists of Japanese ancestry by founding members Joanne and Yukio Onaga after their successful exhibit during the 1975 Nisei Week Festival. The heritage of Japanese ceramics and the contemporary techniques of today allow this group to express many levels of creativity.
