An early, 1930s spun aluminum bowl with wood handles by American Industrial Designers, Russel Wright and Mary Wright. A classic example of streamlined, art deco design featuring the use of industrial materials such as spun aluminum.
Early Wright product catalogs were illustrated with simple, line drawings to showcase their product lines. In Wright’s 1930s catalog, the spun aluminum bowl is listed as Item #907, Nested Bowl No. 1.
Russel and Mary formed Wright Accessories in 1927 to produce small items for the home such as small, metal animal sculptures/ statues and spun aluminum bar and entertaining accessories.
