An antique art nouveau/ gothic style, quadruple plated (silver plate) candelabra by Barbour Silver Co. Piece is a 5-arm candelabra with original, dark patina present. A solid, heavy piece.
This candelabra is beautiful. The design, the patina … is perfect! I love the swooping arms of each candle holder, and the base design.
Production between 1892 – 1898.
Overall good condition with signs of wear, age, and use.
Barbour Silver Co. History:
Based in Hartford, Connecticut, Barbour Silver Company was organized in 1892 by Samuel L. Barbour, Issac J. Steane, and J.L. Daigleish. Over a few, short years, the company name changed (presumably through buyouts, etc.) to I.J. Steane & Co., Barbour Hobson Co. and Barbour Bros. Co. Barbour Silver Co. was purchased and became part of the large holdings of International Silver Co. in 1898. Reference: Silvercollection.it
