John Van Hamersveld ( B. 1941 ) is an American graphic artist and illustrator who designed record jackets for Pop, Rock, and psychedelic bands beginning in the 1960s. Among the 300 albums he worked on are cover designs for The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, and Kiss. His first major work was the poster design for the iconic surf film "The Endless Summer," after which he went on to become immersed in the world of Rock & Roll as the head of design for Capitol Records.
