The fishing fleet comes home for the night and is depicted in this Chromolithograph from the original painting by listed artist, Arthur Vidal Diehl, a vintage impressionist. The print is entitled: “Fishing Fleet Evening”. Signed lower left with the printer, John Drescher, NY lower right. Framed in a gilt wood frame, under glass c1910. The paper on the back has the framer’s name J.D. Co. NY. Strong colors with no fading. There are reflections from our trees in the background. In excellent condition, was never removed from the frame. Gilt wear to the frame and tattered paper on the back. No serious damage or repairs.
Arthur Vidal Diehl was a prominent English impressionist landscape artist. Diehl was born in London, England, but for most of his career, he lived in Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States where he painted Old World and New World landscapes.Born: 1870, London, United Kingdom Died: January 12, 1929 (age 59 years), Fall River, MA
