C.1950's; Original Signed Hans J. Wegner(Design.) for Johannes Hensen(Mfr), is this sculptural masterpiece, wood-carved valet chair/butler, made of oak and teak. The frame is oak, while the inlaid detail to the seat back is teak as well as the seat. Some wonderful wishbone design details, of the time, think Henry Moore, the Surrealist movement, and the time period for which elements of Artistic design periods and, like in this piece, and many of the pieces Designed by Hans J. Wegner. Wood features prominently in the crafted and skilled endeavors that abounded to produce what went into pieces, such as this, including the type of varied kinds of wood, utilized in crafting such pieces of distinction, which are still sought after currently. The hidden butler concealed flip top section, top edge lined in leather, with polished brass hardware, in which tombstone, serfs, gloves, cuff links, or the likes of gentleman's gentleman pieces, while also having the distinction of the Manufacturer's markings on the underside of this Valet Chair. Purchased in Denmark from a Dealer, within a Very High End Worldwide Web portal, current to today, serving distinctive clients.
