Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 1960s, black and white view of the city's skyline featuring a mix of historic and modern buildings. The photograph captures the architectural diversity of Montreal during this era, with notable structures like the Sun Life Building and newer high-rise office towers. The image showcases the contrast between the classic, ornate buildings and the sleek, modernist architecture that was emerging during the mid-20th century. The dome of Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral is also visible, adding a touch of historic elegance to the urban landscape. Andres was born 1905 in Germany and passed away 1992. He started his career as a photographer in 1920. He was one of the first photographers, who used a Leica. His images today are displayed in several museums, for example in the Civil War Museum in Salamanca, Spain, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Industrial Museum in Oberhausen, Germany. Andres was a contributor for Edward Steichens Exhibition "The family of man" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1951.
