Note: While we are not experts on such clocks, due to the height and carving, we believe that the case is possibly Flemish 18th/19thc, however some elements may have been replaced, the impressive carving and stature of the case are its value the case displays some small wood losses, nicks and wear, clock is accompanied by weights, but lacks a pendulum, we have been unable to open the front door, there is a brass rod/tub secured at the back of the clock and protruding, but not touching the movement. Speculatively only, there my at one time, have been a chiming action, the bell striker slides on top of the vertical rod shown on the movement front at left of the large movement gear, it will come off with a simple push or pull, thus causing the hands to fall off, the face plate would be attached to the movement by three pins located on the back plate, these are to be aligned and inserted into corresponding holes on the movement front and then secured by the insertion of tiny nails through the hoes in the face plate pins, however the face is not secured to the movement front at this time, operational status is unknown, decorative only.
