For your consideration...Sometimes we surprise and surpass ourselves...finding this amazing box was one of them...
A stunning, large porcelain covered box, raised on four gilt feet, made at Dresden in Germany. It is extensively hand-painted over transfers and beautifully gilt decorated on pure white porcelain. We think this is a glove box, or for similar use on a lady's dresser. A real beauty!
Fit for a Duchess.
It is quite large, measuring about 12.5" long, 7.5" wide and standing about 6" tall.
It is in mint condition.
It carries an underglaze blue mark of a flower, we think an Adolph Hamann piece from the early 19th c.
The interior and exterior of the box are richly decorated with bouquets and sprays of typical Dresden flowers.
Superbly hand-painted...meticulously cared for over the many years. Lid and body are without chips and gold is very much intact
