Made by Royal Doulton, the pattern is known as 'Pagoda', D 2649. It features a pretty Chinoiserie scene of a temple, on a river, with boats, rocks, trees, and buildings surrounding, and a gorgeous border of cobalt blue and turquoise with pink cherry blossoms and gilding, in classic Asian style.
This piece is 'clobbered', that is hand-painted in enamels over transfers and over the glaze. This piece is beautifully done, by expert painters and craftsmen and the colors are gorgeous!
Measures 9" in diameter. Stands 6" tall on a nice pedestal foot.
It is in very fine condition, with no damage, no paint loss, and just a bit of wear to the gilt rim of the bowl. less
