Rare largest version of the t14d table with model d08 extensions designed by pierre chapo and made in his own atelier in france in 1965. The table made of solid elm stands out for the purity of its lines and its monumental presence. The thickness of the pillars and the size of the top are reminding us of the altars of ancient temples. Although in some respects the t14 seems to come from the depths of time it shows a resolute modern design. The profiled edges of the top and the corners of the pillar legs bring harmony to the whole design. The top shows a striking grain and very nice wood joints visible on the sides, which were similar to how perriand used them in her designs.the t14 caught the eye at its presentation and immediately became a timeless piece. The d08 shelf is an extension of the table with an ingenious yet simple system. A large wooden stem is rotating into the place of the screw in the table and is held on the top by two metal clamps. In fantastic original condition. Kindly note that the benches, stools and chairs came from the same house and are not included in this listing but can be purchased here/here/here. Literature; pierre chapo a modern craftsman magen h gallery 2017, page 55 the work of chapo combines ancient woodworking skill and tradition with a contemporary approach. In designing his distinguished pieces, solid oak, elm, teak and ash were mainly used. After graduating from the parisian école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in architectural studies, he travelled through scandinavia, central america and the united states. After returning to the french capital, he opened his own gallery in 1958 on boulevard de l’hôpital 14, where among other artists mainly his and isamu noguchi’s creations were on display. In 1960, he received a gold medal from the city of paris as a token of appreciation for his contributions to the city. Pierre chapo is for sure one of the best designers from french soil, clearly to be seen at his architectural designs and craftsmanship. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no

however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
