This fantastic desk table was personally made by Daniele Calabi for his own use in 1950. It's a unique piece with a striking asymmetrical wire frame featuring brass feet and a walnut oval-rectangular top. The frame gives the impression of being drawn in a single line, displaying detailed and smooth craftsmanship. It's a work of genius with the metal beautifully navigating various corners and straight lines. It's a truly remarkable table with an unique shape and remains in very good original condition showing only minor signs of wear from age and use. A genuine architect's desk. Kindly note that the chair on the pictures is not included but can be purchased here. After graduating in Engineering in Padua in 1929, he took the additional exams in Architecture in Milan in 1933. In the 1930s he had the opportunity to expand his training as an architect in Paris. He also worked in Venice and Padua. from a Jewish family, racial persecution led him to emigrate to Sao Paulo, Brazil. Unable to sign the projects at first, he worked for a cousin's company, Costrutora Moderna, and only later as a freelancer, often for Italians living there. On his return to Italy he set up his own professional studio in Milan, Padua and the Lido of Venice. He was a volunteer assistant in technical architecture at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Padua. Subsequently, at the University Institute of Architecture of Venice, he was Free Professor of Building Hygiene, Professor of Estimation and Construction Elements. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
