Elegant oversized floor lamp in the shape of a rhubarb leaf. Designed by carlo gorgi and manufactured by bottega gadda, italy 1971. This lamp is made of solid brass, and its original patina gives it a special character. The design includes an embossed rhubarb leaf, crafted using special techniques, and it's mounted on a round base. The lamp provides indirect light, creating a unique and artistic atmosphere in any room. In 1970 bottega gadda was founded by carlo gadda, a sculptor, painter, engraver and professor of drawing at the academy of fine arts. Gadda first began working and experimenting with precious metals and gems. Inspired by naturalistic themes of the arts and crafts movement, he then focused on creating lighting fixtures and decorative objects in brass, copper, pewter and bronze. Most notable among his early works were unique handmade lighting fixtures designed by architect carlo giorgi made with exquisite craftsmanship in the form of large rhubarb, ginkgo or wisteria leaves in bent and chased brass. After high school, carlo giorgi continued his passion by enrolling at the politecnico university of milano, where he studied industrial design. He developed a wide range of skills including technical drawing, computer-aided design and 3d modeling. During his university years, carlo stood out for his exceptional talent and innovative approach to design. His projects were exhibited at a number of local and regional exhibitions, allowing him to make a name for himself in the italian design world. After graduating, carlo giorgi started his career at several well-known design studios in milan. This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the usa.
