Really nice set of 4 Aluflex folding chairs designed by Armin Wirth and manufactured by Hans Zollinger Sohne in Switzerland in 1951. Known for their convenience these chairs are lightweight and have foldable seats allowing you to stack and store the four chairs in the space typically occupied by just one. Despite their transparent and light appearance they offer comfort and support just like regular dining chairs. Constructed with tubular aluminum frames and seats and backs made of painted birch plywood they not only look sleek but also provide a pleasant seating experience. Notably, three chairs have a painted FDB mark at the back. This was probably the previous place the were. Though the specific location remains unidentified. The ALUFLEX metal tag sits at the back of the frames. Super practical and colourful chairs that you can enjoy for a long time! Kindly note that these are priced and sold in a set of 4. Over the course of his career, Armin Wirth has worked on a wide variety of projects, ranging from furniture and interior design to household appliances and lighting. His creations are characterized by their minimalist aesthetics and innovative functionality. Armin Wirth has won many awards for his designs, including the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. His designs have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world and are part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, among others. Armin Wirth also taught industrial design at various art and design schools in Switzerland and abroad. He died in 2017 at the age of 77. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
