This incredible chest is colored in a warm honey brown with magnificent raised carvings of birds and foliage on top, back and sides. Camphor wood is know by its fragrant scent and symbolizes vitality, health and peace in Asian cultures.

While unable to determine the age of this chest; it is known that Camphor Wood chests were used to transport tea, porcelain and silks. Although vintage, this chest makes a beautiful addition for either a contemporary or traditional interior design. It is in very good condition.

I acquired this chest about 3 years ago from a vendor in a small town in SC. I have truly enjoyed having it in my home. It is now time for this chest to continue its travels and bring vitality, health and peace to a new space. See less
