The tubular brass is lacquer coated to minimize tarnishing. It still retains most of its bright finish. Included with your purchase is the original metal bed frame. There are 2 side rails that each hook onto the headboard and footboard, and one center crossbar that screws into the side rails. The set is quite heavy and sturdy. The headboard measures 63" high x 62" wide and the post finials are 3" in diameter. The footboard measures 47" high x 62" wide. The 2 side rails are 80" long. less
