Hyacinthe Hill was the recipient of numerous prizes and awards for her work, including: the Poetry Society of America awards, 1961, 1962, 1964, and 1967; Effa Stark Sanders National Lyric Contest award, 1962; two Mentor poetry awards, 1966; International Poet Laureate and Poet-Leader Merittisimus Award, Manila, 1969; International Poet Laureate, golden laurel wreath and diploma of award, First and Second World Congress of Poets, Manila, 1971, Taiwan, 1973; Gold Commemorative Medal from the Shah of Iran, 1972; distinguished service citation, World Poetry Society, 1973; York Award, 1974; Keats Poetry Prize, 1975, for poem, "The Riveter"; named an International Woman of 1975, with laureate honors, International Hall of Fame of Women of Distinction, 1975.
