A stunningly original mixed-media collage showing an Ark containing various life-forms and a dove resting in the waves. Fridman has used oil paint, papyrus and pre-columbian textiles to fashion a powerful interpretation of this fundamental symbol of Christian iconography.
Signed lower left, 'Liber Fridman' and created circa 1940.
This listed Argentine artist explored the juxtaposition of pre-Columbian and post-contact modes of expression with his multimedia approach in art. Fridman's work exalts pre-Columbian textile as art. Liber Fridman traveled extensively throughout South America during his career as an artist, studying and painting in Paraguay, Brazil, Venezuela and Peru.
Over the course of a long career, Liber Fridman exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards.
