This is an antique large platter in a blue and white transfer ware produced by Edge, Malkin & Co., an … more This is an antique large platter in a blue and white transfer ware produced by Edge, Malkin & Co., an earthenware manufacturer at the Newport and Middleport potteries, Burslem, England from 1870 – 1902. This is in their 'Cordon' pattern that features geometric and floral elements in a medium blue on a slightly creamy white ground. This large platter measure It measures 20 inches by 14.75 inches wide. This platter is in good condition for its nearly 150 years of age. We only found one small chip on the underneath side.. not on the surface. There are manufacturing blemishes typical of this type of earthenware and the back has some dark spots. The platter is marked on back `Rd no 26620/ Edge Malkin & Co/42 as well as a stamped mark `Cordon/ Rd no 26100/LS&S'. The registry numbers date it b/n 1885-1889.
