Vintage late 20th century Persian micro mosaic style frame with traditional artwork. The frame includes geometric patterns finished gold, red, green, brown, and black. The artwork is a hand painted polo men on horseback scene bordered by a traditional botanical pattern.
Called khatam kari, this Persian art form involves creating intricate geometric patterns on wooden or metallic surfaces using small pieces of wood, bone, or metal. This technique dates back centuries and has deep roots in Persian culture.
