Elaborately designed silver-plated mounting in the form of skilfully intertwined rose tendrils, forming an oval ring with four feet, which … more Elaborately designed silver-plated mounting in the form of skilfully intertwined rose tendrils, forming an oval ring with four feet, which serves as a holder for the glass vessel, which is additionally supported at the front and back by two sculptural blossoms and foliage, with intertwined pairs of raised stems with buds at the sides offering themselves as handles. The extremely light and playful meshwork supports an elaborately designed bowl made of glass coloured from clear to yellow-green with a floral cut and curved upper edge. Strongly influenced artistically by the sculptor albert mayer (1867-1944), who was appointed artistic director at wmf in 1894; characterised by the combination of naturalistic and rococo elements, typical of the late 19th century, as well as the willowy female figures, ribbons and tendrils - modern, playful surface structures and functional forms. Made by wmf, wuerttembergische metallwarenfabrik, geislingen, germany britannia-metal, silver plated circa 1910 dimensions: height = 19,5 cm / 7.67 in width = 47,0 cm / 18.50 in depth = 21,0 cm / 8.26 in marks: wmf + ostrich + g in diamond - for wmf - wuerttemberg metal goods factory, geislingen, manufactory mark circa 1910 i/o - normal thick silver layer ox - oxidised condition: very well maintained, cleaned and polished, undamaged original glass liner. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
