This chair is beautiful and sleek, certainly inspired by the work of designer James Mont, who drew inspiration from Chinese elegance and lines in his furniture; it is no surprise that James Mont had gangsters and movie stars within his clientele, as this chair is one of a kind and would have stood out as decadent relief against a field of restrained modernism in the 1950's - 1960's.
