Vorobyova was born in Moscow and studied locally at the Moscow Secondary Art School, studios of I.M. Gurvich and studios of S.P. Mikhailov (1939-1943).
Later, in 1945 Vorobyova studied at the Moscow State Art Institute of VI Surikov, in the workshops of I.I. Chekmazov and V.V. Favorskaya, DK Mochalsky and KM Maksimova.
Vorobyova's works were exhibited at the Tajik Pavilion of Agricultural Exhibition (VSHV) and at the 1952 Combine of Fine Art of the Moscow. In 1953 she became a participant of the all-Union, republican, regional zone and Moscow exhibitions.
Vorobyova was a member of the Moscow branch of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1960). In 1984 she was awarded the diploma of the Moscow city organization of the art fund of the RSFSR. In 1988 she received the Honorary Diploma of the Board of the Moscow City Department of the Soviet Peace Fund and the prize at the “Spring Salon.” In 2004 Vorobyova had her first personal exhibition in the museum-reserve of DV Polenov.
Nadezhda passed away on July 9, 2011 (Moscow). Her works can be found in the Podolsk Art Museum, the Belgorod State Art Museum, as well as numerous private collections across the globe.
Vorobyova worked in different genres from landscape to still life. Her works during the 1950s and 60s, gravitated towards children and youthful themes. She referred to this series as “Kindergarten”.
This oil on canvas painting is from Vorobyova's Kindergarten series. It is titled "In the Nursery" and is dated 1965.
The piece is signed and dated on the reverse in Cyrillic. It reads "Vorobyova, N.D., In the Nursery, 1965."
