Our pair of Empire period fauteuil armchairs showcase early 19th Century French artistry and craft. In warm walnut, they have a graceful silhouette with gentle curves along the back, the armrests and down the out swept back legs, finished with a scrolled top.
The highlight of these chairs is the armrests, with exquisite carving - a delicate scale motif at the top transitions to intricately carved dolphins at the base. The front legs feature claw feet, while the bronze swan mounts add classical appeal.
Reupholstered in Colefax & Fowler “Hector” herringbone fabric, they are a wonderful blend of warmth and classicism.
