This is definitely vintage and most likely an antique, very similar in style to pieces that date from the mid … more This is definitely vintage and most likely an antique, very similar in style to pieces that date from the mid to late 19th century. Note the dovetails on the single drawer. The underside of the drawer bottom also shows saw marks and a chamfered drawer edge, common before 1840. The screws appear similar to those used from 1820-1850, or... due to the slight point, maybe after 1846/1856.

The piece has a single drawer with knobs, and accent moulding around the drawer front. It has been lovingly cleaned/restored/beeswax polished/spiffed up; the finish was not altered. It appears to be of mixed wood construction, perhaps an oak top with very shapely turned (mahogany?) legs. It is in overall very good condition, a solid and sound piece, having wear consistent with age and use. I chose not to refinish this piece because I think the distressing, finish loss, ink stains and other markings lend to its charm and character. A multi-use piece, it will look great in an entryway, bedroom, family room, living room, library, etc. less
