This pastel on paper is very well done and appears to be mid 19th century and probably American. It has a great folk art look and the dogs are very charming. The painting is unsigned as is typical of the period.

Condition: Some wear to the pastel where it appears to have lifted on to the glass. Some water damage along the lower edge of the painting. Has not been examined outside the frame.
