India, mid 19th century, showcasing exceptional rustic craftsmanship, apothecary inspired circular domed top Chapati form, featuring pierced reticulated hand hammered and engraved floral and foliate relief decoration throughout, having a hinged lid with carry handle, the top opening to reveal a fitted interior, housing removable round serving tray, six hammered storage jar containers of varied sizes, all with corresponding tops. Retaining remnants of betel leaf and various herbs/spices, each lidded vessel decorated with incised ornamentation to the top and sides.

A remarkable example of functional art / objet d'art, that is interesting, visually striking and highly decorative, it makes for a fascinating tea caddy, jewelry casket, trinket case, small strong box, table or desk organizer, or authentic antique decor.
