The leather is in remarkably excellent condition given it's age showing only minor friction/rub areas in isolated locations (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said there are no stains, rips or odors present whatsoever. The black-leather support straps on the chair have been replaced with genuine full-grain leather and dyed to match the original. The chrome shows only minor areas of pitting and spotting (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos provided) but there are no serious signs of wear present. This ultra-stylish chair and ottoman set are incredibly comfortable, structurally sound and ready for decades more of use thanks to the new support straps. less

This set features a sleek low-profile design, constructed from durable tubular steel that retains its original chrome plating, exuding timeless elegance and modernity. The chair has been newly re-strapped with thick leather straps, ensuring both durability and comfort.
Born in Kansas in 1923, Baughman became one of the most generative American designers of the Mid-Century period. Utilizing the consummate Mid-Century materials such as chrome, stainless steel, glass and walnut he created a new visual vocabulary, building on the legacy of such designers as Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Marcel Breuer, but infused with the style and ease of the American West Coast.
The high-back design of this lounge chair offers exceptional support, while the luxurious seat cushion, back cushion, arms, and ottoman cushion are upholstered in rich, original cognac-colored leather. This exquisite set is a perfect statement piece for a high-end design project or a discerning collector with an eye for exceptional mid-century modern design.
