in the years 1954-1959 he studied painting and graphics at the jan matejko academy of fine arts in kraków. He obtained his diploma at the faculty of graphics in the lithography studio of prof. K. Srzednicki and at the poster studio of prof. M. Makarewicz. In 1987 he received the title of professor at the faculty of graphics of the kraków academy of fine arts. He practices workshop graphics, drawing, and painting.
he was awarded the "golden laurel" for his mastery in art, the knight's cross, the honoris gratia badge and the bronze medal for merit to culture - gloria artis.
the artist's works can be found in the collections of the national museum in warsaw, kraków and poznań, the museum of art in łódź, the pomeranian museum in gdańsk, the bydgoszcz land museum, the pratt institute in new york, the tokyo municipal museum, the graphic arts cabinet in geneva, the library of congress in washington and the new darmstadt secession in darmstadt.
