This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted … more Extraordinary antique bridal cupboard made of pine dating from 1857. This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted in a fresh blue color with floral decorations in the yellow painted panels. The previous owner's wedding date is painted on top of the doors. This copy is still in good condition considering its age, although there are of course some signs of use. Such as sporadically some old woodworm traces which have of course been checked and treated. The key to the lock is missing, but the doors can be opened and closed using a hook. The inside is still completely original with a shelf and coat hooks. If desired, you can easily add more shelves. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history.
