These paintings with landscapes depicting nature in winter with bright and intense colours.

The old oil painting is signed in the bottom right, but it is difficult to interpret, but it is most probably by the

French painter Hippolyte Girard (1847 -1891), who was active in the 19th century, but of whom we have very few clearings.

The oil painting adorns a beautiful lacquered wooden frame. 

The canvas has been relined and the frame are carefully and professionally restored.
