Spectacular side or console table of Vietnamese origin, dating back to the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. It presents a curious trapezoidal shape, or faceted profile, which could indicate a ceremonial or specific purpose in the use of the furniture. The intricate carving work on the wood stands out, especially on the skirt, characteristic of traditional Vietnamese crafts. The carved decorative motifs appear to follow scroll or volute patterns, common in Asian ornamentation. This type of design usually has symbolic connotations, often associated with nature, prosperity or longevity.
The use of black and gold, along with red on the top, creates a dramatic contrast that highlights the sophistication of the furniture.
