Nordisk solar compagni's tivoli pendant was designed by danish architect jørn utzon pre 1957 before he won the architectural competition for the sydney opera house.
in the late 1940s concurrent with architectural design. Utzon also took on design of smaller scale lamp construction to secure some much needed income for his family and because lighting was a passion of his.
this is the ceiling lamp version of it is also known by the name of halsskov because it was used in large numbers in the interiors of the ferries then crossing the great belt between the ports of halsskov and nyborg.
the tivoli and halsskov by jørn utzon is nowadays included in danish design company's &tradition collection and it has been renamed as utzon ju1.
these lamps are by nordisk solar compagni. Makers stamp - ns 05301 is found on the 60w bulb socket tag.
