This beautiful marble sculpture is signed "Allouard" on the reverse. Henri Émile Allouard, known as Henri Allouard, born in Paris in 1844, was first a bookseller before he was able to make a living from his art. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes from 1865 to 1928. During his long career, he explored different materials: marble, bronze, terracotta and ivory. He also painted classical subjects such as landscapes and still lifes. less
