Description: Vintage oak filing cabinets have four standard sized, but very deep drawers. Cabinet dates from the late 1880's to early … more Vintage oak filing cabinets have four standard sized, but very deep drawers. Cabinet dates from the late 1880's to early 1900s. They are manufactured by the Yawman and Erbe Mfg. Co, an early Rochester NY factory specializing in office furniture, with the rapidly expanding Eastman Kodak as a major and local customer. The cabinets both have the original brass nameplate.

These two cabinets feature brass oxidized hardware and can accommodate letter sized files. All drawers function, but a few could use some tweaking. There is a small, vertical crack on one of the wood faces that can be seen if you pull out the drawer.

The cabinets are sold as a pair. The right side of one of the cabinets has the original oak side.

The left side of the other cabinet has a recently installed wood side panel with a matching stain. The drawers do not have a lock. Each drawer has an internal and movable wooden backstop that can be slide forward to tighten up or compress your files.

These two cabinets came from my grandfather’s engineering office in Rochester. As we have downsized from our brownstone, I would love to find a good and appreciative home for them. less
