This lamp was hand forged in Spain in the 1960s. It is made of an unknown metal that has been painted and burnished gold. Imperfections and distressing are intentional design elements. Details along the body of the lamp include pockmarks, wrinkles, and short stems. The base is made from three branch-like stems, and the lampshade is made from the same metal and includes roping details along the edge, vines and leaves forged onto the shade, and holes throughout to emit light.
The lamp does have new wiring, however, the light bulb sockets have not been replaced. This lamp is in working condition.
I purchased this lamp at the Round Top, TX antique show in the Blue Hills Compound. It came from a Europoean Light Specialist who only deals in light fixtures. I used it for 8 years in my retail storefront, and then the past two years it has floated from place to place in my home. As I can't seem to find it a permanent resting place in my own home, I decided it needed to fulfill a special place in someone else's wonderful home.
