This beautiful vase is … more Stunning mid century modern sommerso art glass vase designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta (Sweden, 1950s/60s). This beautiful vase is made of thick green, yellow and blue glass surrounded by transparent glass. It is extremely decorative. The base is incised with "Kosta 46451" and Vicke Lindstrand's signature (see pictures). Height: 9.1''; width: 4.7''; depth: 3.1''. Quite heavy (weight: 3.1 kg). Excellent vintage condition. Some air bubbles and tiny scratches.

"Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer. less
