Italian designed 'Soriana' lounge chair designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina and distributed in the United States under license in the 1960s and 1970s by Atelier International. Tobia & Afra designed for many major Italian and international companies such as Flos, Gavina, Cassina, Knoll International, B&B Italia and more. Signed with Cassina paper label and a small partial Atelier International sticker label.
The cushioned leather body of the seat and backrest of this smiley-face chair is supported and contained by a metal frame which helps the chair to look like it is smiling =) The large tufted areas creates a charismatic appearance that is sure to charm your guests while providing the utmost in comfort. This lounge chair retains its original light grey leather with light patina.
This Soriana lounge chair would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room.
