Luis Sottil:
Born in Mexico City, and raised in Tampico, Sottil offers an appreciation of nature in an art form he calls Naturalismo
Sottil combines a rich coat of gold leaf that serves as a background to each painting, and natural pigments such as minerals, mother-of-pearl, vegetable roots, and rare Cochilla beetle shell found only in Mexico to create his blend of natures innocence and romantic sophistication.
Sottil's paintings and prints offer an uncomplicated positive message- nothing is as beautiful or as important as nature.
