Breathtaking and Primitive Vintage Shag Beni Ourain Moroccan Berber Rug, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Morocco, Circa Date: Mid – 20th Century – This beautiful abstract vintage mid-20th century Moroccan Berber rug would look at home in any mid century architectural creation from the likes of Frank Lloyd Wright or Alvo Aalto. It would also be the perfect addition to a modern Scandinavian or any other contemporary design too. Famous mid 20th century modern designers developed a love of Moroccan rugs, such as this breathtaking Beni Ourain rug . These natural rustic vintage mid century modern rugs were used to offset the clean modern lines of the interior designs and had an exotic appeal as well.
These beautifully woven carpets from Morocco continue to have an appeal in boho chic interiors and eco friendly decors, as well as other modern designs. Originally, these area rugs were created by women for personal use and told a story through color and symbolism. This rug uses chocolate lines on ivory in an ever-changing diamond pattern.
The design of this spectacular vintage Shag Beni Ourain Moroccan Berber rug wanders imperfectly across the rug, giving it a primitive look and feel. The ground of the rug is defined by two chocolate lines along the sides. It does not appear to have vertical or horizontal symmetry that can be easily distinguished. The pattern does not appear to have any regularity about it, giving it a whimsical and organic charm that reflects the natural world.
This vintage Shag Beni Ourain Moroccan Berber rug boasts a graphically dense design that is reminiscent of a contemporary abstract modern art painting. - Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations
