Vintage Scandinavian Swedish Kilim Rug by Rakel Callander 49130, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavian Rugs, Circa Date: 1950’s – Like many other Swedish kilim rugs, this one is meant to convey a sense of elegant understatement. Through the stormy color palette, the viewer is able to discern their own meaning from the patterns and arrangements across the Scandinavian rug’s center. Two simple horizontal lines of jagged, angular teeth line the top and bottom of the vintage rug, creating a striking arrangement for viewers to enjoy. Because of how effortlessly the gray elements transition into the black, the concept of negative and positive space becomes interchangeable, and the viewer is free to decide how they see the rug’s foreground elements.
This Swedish kilim rug, though it is a vintage carpet, has a more modern rug feel due to the subtle use of color and more abstract approach to the design. The pattern of this vintage Swedish kilim rug by Rakel Callander is so open which give it a feel of both vertical and horizontal symmetry, making it a beautiful piece no matter which way it is displayed.
The tonal use of colors in this vintage mid century modern area rug are subtle and speak to a knowledge of color and design. Earthy grey tones, with lighter contrasting colors, create an eye catching feel. There are distinct borders only on the two ends of the vintage mid Century Swedish flat weave area rug, giving the appearance of an all over pattern while still nicely framing the pattern. Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller

Cancellations
