A colorful Paul Klee artist rug made in the Netherlands Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavian Rugs, Circa date: mid-20th century – This colorful Scandinavian mid 20th century rug by artist Paul Klee embodies contemporary artistic design at its best. Paul Klee was a Swiss German artist with a highly individualized style that was influenced by cubism, expressionism, and surrealism. He taught at the iconic Bauhaus School of Art and his art work helped to shape the modern as well as the postmodern artistic movements.
The childlike qualities of this art rug by Paul Klee are seen throughout many of Klee’s work. The bold black color lines are heavy and add so much weight to the design. An abstract face, maybe even two, are created by using only simple stick figure like lines that peer from the vintage rug. The weight of the black lines is offset by the vibrancy and brightness of the rug colors.
The artist chose only colors on the warm end of the color spectrum, which makes this vintage area rug from Scandinavia have a cozy and inviting feel. The use of line, both in the black lines and the division of color creates a wonderful sense of movement. Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
