Vintage Scandinavian Rakel Callander Swedish Kilim Rug 49129, Country of Origin / Rug Type: Scandinavian Rugs, Circa Date: 1950s – True to so many of the best Swedish kilim area rugs, this piece consists of simple shapes and colors that ground and unify the patterns within. Through an angular arrangement of boxes and diamonds, this Scandinavian rug creates an almost storybook atmosphere, reinforced through the use of traditional colors, like cream, brown and clay. These boxes are arranged around each other in a tight formation. The boxes are broken up at regular intervals by alternating forms, which include configurations of diamonds, horizontal and vertically running zig-zags, with each primary motif assigned to an individual box when it comes next in the pattern of this vintage rug.
This incredible vintage Scandinavian flat woven area rug is brimming with soft warm autumn color and bold patterns. Incorporating a phenomenal assortment of clear and well designed geometric shapes that are arranged in a pleasing flipped symmetry, this beautifully crafted kilim rug is an excellent example of crisp and skillful weaving. The famed textile designer, Rakel Callender, has combined, withing the compositing of the magnificent vintage mid century modern area rug, geometric stars and right angle motifs to create a bright and cheerful composition that is representative of Scandinavia type folk art crafts. This vintage Swedish kilim rug is an artful execution of the tradition, and highly representative of the skill possessed by Rakel Callander and their contemporaries during the mid-20th century.
Naturally, this piece would look phenomenal in any scandi type home decor and interior design. It will also fit in perfectly in any retro style interior design. That said, the soft colors and geometric approach to the design will also make it easy to incorporate and place this rug in almost any type of interior design as it will play nice with almost any type of rug or furniture.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final

Cancellations
