1 Hunting English Small Artwork Pencil & Chalk Drawing Sporting Fox Hunters With Scent Hounds Signed By Michael Lyne 1912-1989.
Subject hunting scene of a gentleman master of the hunt rider on horse, he is blowing his horn, surrounded by loyal scent hound dogs who are leading the scent trial to find the fox prey.

Medium pencil with chalk highlights on paper with protective glass front cover.
Artist biography Sporting artist and writer, full name Charles Edward Michael Lyne. He was born in Upton Bishop, Herefordshire, son of a country parson. Rejected the idea of becoming a vet or a farmer, instead studying for short time at Cheltenham School of Art.
Initially he worked in watercolour and body colour, but between late 1940s and 1970s concentrated on oils, producing hunting subjects in rich colours, culminating in a notable series on the Grand National.
Hunted his own pack of beagles, the United Cotswold, also with otter-hounds and with over 40 packs of foxhounds in England, Ireland and America.
Wrote and illustrated a number of books, including Horse, Hounds and Country; A Parson’s Son; and From Litter to Later On. Lived near Fairford in Gloucestershire. Text source: 'Artists in Britain Since 1945' by David Buckman (Art Dictionaries Ltd, part of Sansom & Company).
