Italian mahogany and brass suit valet chair with drawer by SPQR, 1950s.
Practicality and fine Italian craftsmanship come together in this very attractive valet stand. A great design with a woven rush seat over a drawer and removable, curved hanger with grip which fits into brass brackets. A cupped, long wood tray keeps cuff links, jewelry and smaller loose items handy. The seat is sturdy and retains its meticulously woven shape, while underneath you will find a convenient brass-trimmed rack to neatly hold shoes. The mahogany is rich in color with a gorgeous finish enhancing its beautiful lines. A highly useful piece that would keep your space and outfit tidy while adding beauty to the room. Wonderful for guest rooms too. Marked "SPQR Made in Italy." It is in clean vintage condition with minimal signs of use. Very light scuffs in a couple areas and some patina to the brass brackets.
