18th century 8 day Joseph Wills (1735-1755) Philadelphia tall case clock. Flat top case with a Brass dial with Roman numerals, second hand and date aperture. The case is constructed of Walnut, yellow pine and poplar and has a very nice mellow color on an older refinished surface. Cast Brass spandrels with eagles and urns. Repairs to the back and right side of the hood, original door glass and case door hinges. Pulleys and case door lock are later replacements. .The movement has been carefully cleaned and serviced and works beautifully. The bell hammer has been fitted with a small piece of cork to quiet down the strike. Excellent running condition.
