Chinese porcelain Bagua and cranes bowl, a finely potted, eggshell bowl in blue and white glazes. Both sides of the rim have double trim lines. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with the eight Taoist Bagua trigrams alternating with clouds and flying cranes. The foot is decorated with a band of ocean waves and spume, behind eight, evenly-placed taoist castanet symbols, ending in double trim lines just above the extended foot.
A blue, six character, Guangxu reign mark is glazed to the inset base. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China period, no later than mid century.
