19th century portrait of Mayflower Descendent, Mrs Amanda (Mandy) Alden. Framed in original gilded frame. Handcolored photograph portrait.

Elaborate wood and gesso frame. Nicely decorated to offset the simplicity of the portrait.
Mrs. Amanda (Mandy) Alden born Amanda Tuttle; Born January 7, 1793. Died March 7, 1854 (details hand written on frame backing.)
Oval framed, hand-colored photograph. Estimated to have been taken around 1840 or so.
The picture is matted with a thick textured gold mat. No cracks in gesso, no loss to frame. Signs of color loss to front frame.
Measurements: Sight 5 1/2" x 4 1/2", overall 9 1/2" x 8 1/2".
Provenance: the Gliedman Estate N.Y.
