Pipes are a common motif in my work which are often inspired by fisherwomen and detectives from the Agatha Christie era.
Her hair is beautifully adorned and much attention falls on her kimono with an abstract motif. The overall composition has a vintage feel and the color palette is sophisticated.
It's a distinctive portrait of a lady with something to say. She thoughtfully engages with the viewer.
Expressive, confident strokes and thick lines are balanced with soft brush strokes and blending.
